Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, Capital Markets in Africa — BRVM (The Regional Stock Exchange of eight West Africa) closed its trading session this Monday lower than the previous day. BRVM 10 index decreased from 304.46 to 297.46 points, a drop of 2.30 percent. BRVM Composite index lost 1.64 percent at 303.47 points against 308.52 points previously.
The equity market capitalization dropped XOF 124.6 billion (about US$207 million) to close at XOF 7,488 billion relative to the previous trading sessions’ market capitalization of XOF 7,613 billion.
The market activity measured by total volume was recorded at 287,749 traded stocks relatively to 1, 356,611 recorded at the previous trading sessions. The total traded value was at XOF581.278 million (against XOF 1,723.153 million recorded at the previous trading session) exchanged in 30 traded securities via 165 deals. Today’s top stock by volume was Ecobank Transnational Incorporated TOGO with 264,587traded securities (accounted for about 92 percent of the total volume). FILTISAC COTE D’IVOIRE recorded the highest total traded value of XOF 211.0004 million contributing nearly 36.30 percent of total traded value. The Liquidity ratio (measured by Volume traded/ Ask orders volume) ended at 16.75 percent and Price Earnings Ratio was recorded at 22.45.

Ecobank Transnational Incorporated TOGO skid by 2.00 percent to close at XOF 49. BANK OF AFRICA NIGER fell by 1.23 percent to end at XOF 80,500 and VIVO ENERGGY COTE D’IVOIRE shed off 1.07 percent to settle at XOF 75,185.
From the sector indices viewpoints, the industry sector index fell by 0.08 percent at 170.59 points and public utilities sector index sagged by 2.83 percent to end at 846.61 points. Financial services sector index lost 0.85 percent to end at 104.51 points and distribution sector index declined by 1.01 percent to end at 566.38 points. The agriculture sector index advanced by 0.10 percent to close at 179.25 points. The transportation sector index remained unchanged to settle at 1,259.71. points and miscellaneous sector index remained unchanged to close at 650.31 points.
